People Matter Most to God
Welcome to Lawrenceville Church of God! We have a vision to change the world!

Rev. Brian SchlottmannIt is our desire to be a community of 'many ministries' in 'many locations' reaching thousands weekly in Gwinnett County and beyond. It is a mammoth task to which our church community has been called. However, it is a vision that is being realized.

When you visit Lawrenceville Church of God, you will find that our mission is centered on three activities; developing Christian Leadership, creating organic ministries that are derived from the passions of our leaders, and creating a worship experience that will inspire you and provide community for those that partner with us. As we fulfill our inspired mission, we are experiencing results around the globe. Visit my blog to learn more about Lawrenceville Church of God's unique vision and mission.

If you are seeking something beyond just a religious experience and are wanting to find a community where servanthood, worship, and Christian development are valued, then look no further. You have found a family at Lawrenceville Church of God where People Matter Most.

Rev. F. John Colbaugh, our senior pastor passed away early on the morning of July 18, 2008 following a battle with cancer.

Our Pastor had served the Church of God as a former state overseer of Kansas (1990-94) and was a member of numerous boards and committees. He began his ministry in 1970 and assumed his first pastorate in 1974 at Troy, Tenn. Other pastorates included Hendersonville, Tenn. (1977-81) and Monroe, Louisiana (1981-90). Upon completion of a four year tenure as overseer of Kansas, Colbaugh returned to the pastorate, assuming the leadership of our great church.

Pastor Colbaugh is survived by his family, including his wife of 41 years, Gloria, and their children, Melissa, Johnna and John, Jr.

Plans for a memoriam include visitation on Monday, July 21 at 6:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 22. All services will be conducted in our sanctuary. Tim Stewart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pastor Colbaugh's memory. You may contribute to the fund by using our online giving form.

We invite you to join our community in prayer.
